Description
Concord Sound and Color is a free 2-day music and arts festival taking place throughout the historic city of Concord, NH. The festival will include a large downtown arts market on Main Street showcasing a variety of local artists and nonprofits representing artists in addition to select food vendors.
The 2024 dates are Friday, October 18, 11 am- 10 pm and Saturday, October 19, 11 am- 10 pm. The Sound and Color Arts Market will close at 7 pm each day.
Sound and Color Arts Market application will open Thursday, August 1, 2024.
The market will include fine art, ceramics, jewelry, clothing, paintings, and more! To be considered for the Sound and Color Arts Market, please register here and provide details along with work samples. Preference will be given to local New Hampshire artists.
Please note that all applications will be carefully reviewed by the Sound and Color steering committee to ensure the best fit for the event. We welcome local artists and aim to feature a diverse range of artists and artwork. To maintain variety and avoid duplication, we may not be able to accommodate every applicant. Sound and Color reserves the right to jury art applications. If we find that your application isn't the best fit this time, we will promptly refund your application fee. Decision will be made on a rolling basis.
Vendor application deadline Friday, September 13. Refund requests must be received in writing to director@intownconcord.org prior to Friday, September 13.
APPLICATION INFORMATION
Please read before applying!
Event Dates and Timing:
- Sound and Color Arts Market will take place on Main Street Friday, October 18, 11 am- 7 pm and Saturday, October 18, 11 am- 7 pm. Rain or shine. Booth must be staffed during the market hours.
- Market setup will be Friday from 7:30 am-10:30 am.
Pricing:
- Artist Booth (10 ft)- $50
- Arts Related Nonprofit/Small Arts Business (10 ft)- $100-If an interactive demonstration is offered Sound and Color will discount the cost to $50 for 10 ft. Example: Woodworking demonstration or pottery wheel throwing. Email director@intownconcord.org with questions.
- Food Vendors (10 ft)- $200 - Additional footage available in 10 ft increments priced at $100. Maximum footage available 30 ft. Food Vendor Application is HERE
Licensing and Insurance:
- The City of Concord has waived the Hawker/Peddler's license fees for all artists participating and selling their work at the Sound and Color Music and Arts Festival.
- Food Vendors please contact Brian Santiago, Health & Safety Officer, City of Concord (603) 225-8580 if not licensed in the City of Concord. Concord City licensing is online HERE
- Insurance is required for all participating artists and food vendors. If you do not have an insurance policy for the event one can be purchased through E&S Insurance; contact Fairley Kenneally (603) 293-2791, fairley@esinsurance.net.
- Provide this language to the insurance agent, "Comprehensive general liability insurance, including without limitation, coverage for the following: products liability, completed operations, acts of independent contractors and blanket contractual liability coverage, with a combined single limit of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury, personal injury, property damage and advertising injury which shall be written by a financially responsible insurance company on an occurrence basis and naming INTOWN CONCORD, 49 S. Main Street, Concord NH 03301 & the CITY OF CONCORD, 41 Green Street, Concord NH 03301 as, Additionally Insured."
Logistical:
- All event artists and vendors are required to bring their own table, tent, and tent weights.
- Electricity is not provided.
- A map and vendor location will be sent out prior to the event.
